When I was in Sheffield I heard this referred to so often it was hard to believe it didn’t still exist.  Apparently filled in with the rubble of Hyde Park, the flats above in the first picture.

The centre of town has changed quite a bit and the following shot of the Peace Gardens from the top of an adjacent building shows some delightful street lights that have long gone.

No historic shots of Sheffield would be complete without the steelworks.  I don’t have the technical knowledge to know what’s going on here so I’ll leave that to my reader to comment in due course.

The film ends with the same title with which it began, a window on the past and well worth a look
