Merry Christmas to all my readers

December 16th, 2012

I would like to wish my readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and if you are not of the Christian faith then simply to wish you the compliments of the season.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those of you have written to me over the last year and especially those whom I have met via and corresponded with on Twitter.

In housing terms I don’t look forward to 2013 because we are likely to see less “social” (call it council) housing built in London than ever before. The continued pressure on existing council estates (Carpenters) by developers supported by the boroughs and the London Mayor, to his shame.

More poor quality housing built (Ellesmere), more families exiled from London because the Conservative government in all but name will not even consider reversing the appalling decision made by William Waldegrave in the 1988 Housing Act to fund the tenant not the buildings “let housing benefit take the strain”.

Developers continuing to argue that they cannot afford to include any affordable housing within their new developments (Heygate) and nobody acting on what everybody knows to be the need to build large numbers of new council houses and flats asap.

Lastly, because I am not willing to pay for vast amounts of server space or deal with the convoluted uploading rules for thebox.bz I can only host two films on here, but if there’s one you particularly want to see by all means drop me a line and we can discuss how I might get it to you, preferably by ftp upload or perhaps a direct transfer via https://www.wetransfer.com/
