World War 1

I cannot begin to comphrehend the First World War. I have never understood war at all, beyond the occasional need perhaps for two angry men to knock seven bells out of each other to settle a misunderstanding in a pub. I have never ever understood why these differences of opinion have to be extended to encompass entire nations and destroy civilisations. So today when I read this Tweet from Tom Cordell I thought yes, I agree with you and that’s why I’m posting it here.
